The Old Tick Tock

This post isn’t meant to be a woes-me post about how rotten my life has been this year. In fact, life has been quite the opposite.  It is simply me reflecting on how, despite all the bad, good can still prevail in your life. I watch others endure similar painful experiences and simply give up and let things go down the drain. All of the things that happened have taught me valuable lessons and has shown me that with a little determination and focus you can get through rough times. What doesn’t kill you does in fact make you stronger. Life has a funny way of being consistently inconsistent and you have to roll with the punches. I realized that too often I find myself buried under work and never having fun. Sometimes I feel like I can’t get away and go to the lake with buddies or spend time with my loved ones, or just plain get out and have fun. Life is too short to spend the whole time trying to get ahead.

This year like so many others in my life, has presented me a staggering amount of opportunities and opened many doors. Despite the poor economy, my business is booming, and growing at a nice, brisk pace. I have had many high profile projects, and made several important contacts and advancements in my business life. It’s amazing what priorities and a positive attitude can do. I’ve made thousands, and spent even more thousands. With the help of my parents, I bought my first house and turned it into a home. I’ve thrown parties, realized beer pong should never be played in your kitchen, set up a home theater in my living room, fixed too many computers, built even more computers, and realized that I think way too much. Don’t let it happen to you, get out and live a little.
