I’ve been wanting to make another computer/web related website for a looong time now. I used to run a tech site called ApogeeTek way back in the day. It got pretty popular for a good amount of time then I had to close it to down when I started working more and couldn’t keep up with it. I’ve always wanted to make another web-related site since then.
I opened Nero to burn a CD today and was faced with a windows error report screen. Every time I would try to open Nero it would crash just past the loading screen. When the error report came up I clicked more info to investigate the problem. I found bcgcbpro730.dll was the cause of the crash and began searching for a solution.
Found this great little guy for when I need a streaming video player for projects. You could write your own, but why spend the time and have less features? this little player is awesome!
I wake up Monday, expecting it to be like any other. I mosey around for a little while, get a few computers fixed that I have been waiting on software and parts for, pay a few bills, and get ready to start my work day. The prior Friday, I had spoken briefly with a customer about her Quickbooks acting funny when she was trying to start it. This was just the start.. little did I know I would get bombarded with Quickbook issues almost all day! I am a mobile computer technician and support many local businesses, so when something doesn’t work, I’m getting a call to get over there and fix it asap.
I have used the Apache web server for years. I run it on almost all my servers and I have been very happy with the performance and reliability. I have had systems running Apache with up-times exceeding 3 years! It is a great open source application that I could not do without in my daily business. As a way to give back to the Apache community I have decided to start a website dedicated to the latest opinions, tips, troubleshooting, and general information about the Apache web server project. The new CA Lighting Sprints website is now officially online. I’ve been putting together the latest (and greatest, from a management point) update to the site. It is now a lot easier to manage for the board and is a lot cleaner code-wise than the past versions of the site.
With a million projects always going on and being in a perpetual state of looking towards tomorrow… your daily routine can seem daunting. Thats when you suck it up and get on with what you need to get done. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about some changes I’m going to be making in my life.
I was going through some old hardware today, and happened to dig up two old hard drives. They were of a decent size so i figured there were probably backups or file storage on them. I plugged them into a test rig and began exploring. Little did I know I’d stumble across some of my earliest websites! I literally found the first website I mad, along with a few others made shortly after.
HipHopLocals.com is one of my newer projects. It’s for the hip hop community, to help bring local spots together and promote the hip hop lifestyle. The website will cover all the elements of hip hop. MCs (rapping), DJ (and mixing), Break and Hip Hop Dancing (B-boy / B-girl), and Graffiti art. We’re looking to explode on the scene and unite the hip hop community throughout the world. I love those morning when you spring right out of bed. Your mind is fresh and alert and you’re awake right off the bat. No sluggish haze to sweep off your brow, you’re ready for the day. Those are the nights of sleep worth their salt. I fell asleep last night before I even realized it. I plop down for a second and next thing I know, it’s morning. Hurray for Monday!
